Safety, Rescue & Expedition Blogs

The Himalayas are not merely a breathtaking travel destination or a line of snow-clad peaks; they are a living, breathing lifeline for millions. However, the delicate ecological balance of Uttarakhand faces unprecedented pressure. Rapid climate shifts, flash floods, cloudbursts, fragile terrain landslides, and rising tourist footprints have turned seasonal natural events into recurrent crises.

When an emergency strikes in remote, high-altitude villages, external administrative rescue teams often face blocked highways and harsh weather. In such critical moments, every second counts, and the first responder is almost always the local community.

Our Motto: Service • Safety • Resilience (सेवा • सुरक्षा • संकल्प)
Established in 2024 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Buddy Hikers Himalayan Safety & Rescue Foundation was founded to close the gap between emergency onset and relief arrival. As a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organisation, the foundation focuses on transforming local populations from passive bystanders into skilled first responders.

"A safer Himalaya is not just a dream, it is a responsibility we all share."

— Rakesh Singh Sajwan, Founder President
